LIABILITY WAIVER AND RELEASE:
The Sacramento Mountains Wildfire Academy will provide instruction in the courses the participant selects under the supervision of competent instructors. Some of the courses involve “hands-on” training that may subject participants to risk of injury. In consideration of being permitted to enroll in such courses, the participant acknowledges that he/she is aware of the risks associated with participation in such courses and is voluntarily agreeing to assume such risks. He/she further agrees that he/she hereby waives and releases from liability for any such injury the The Sacramento Mountains Wildfire Academy, the Cloudcroft, New Mexico Fire and EMS Department, and all trainers, employees and volunteers of such entity or entities, even if the negligence of one or more of the released entities or persons contributes, in whole or in part, to such injury. Participants are advised to purchase individual insurance if their employer does not provide coverage for injuries that occur during participation in the The Sacramento Mountains Wildfire Academy.
* Those who do not accept LIABILITY WAIVER AND RELEASE will not be allowed to register or participate.
COVID-19 COMPLIANCE STATEMENT: While continuing to offer training for our Mission Essential Firefighting personnel, we have modified our Academy structure and will continue to monitor the current guidance from the CDC and the New Mexico Department of Health and NM Governor’s Public Health Orders, applicable at the time of the Academy. A few examples of such accommodation are: providing “learning pods” with smaller groups of people, spacially distanced. We will not have a general session this year and will not have vendors or a centralized registration area. Attendees will be given directions to their classroom locations and will report directly there. Learning materials and supplies will be provided at the individual sites around town. We will not provide prepared food but will have pre-packaged snacks and drinks. We will provide N95 masks and sanitation supplies at every classroom location. Every classroom will be cleaned on a daily basis by our existing janitorial staff who is currently providing COVID safe sanitizing practices for our workforce. NM Health.org: https://cv.nmhealth.org/
